Bump Update: Week 20 (Babymoon!)

{Week 20 in Disney World}

{Week 20 in Disney World}

Everyone responded similarly when AK and I told them we were headed to Disney World for our babymoon: “Aw! That will be fun… Wait… Disney, really?” I’m pretty sure most friends thought we were crazy. I have to admit, I was hesitant to pull the trigger at first, but I’m so glad we did. This week was truly magical!

We planned a low-key Disney trip. I know, it sounds impossible, but it was really great! Since we’re pregnant with our first right now, it was a vacation for just the two of us to escape every day life and enjoy some quality alone time. Our mornings were spent at the parks and the afternoons by the pool or napping. We never pushed ourselves to do it all and I think that was a big difference maker.

You can read more about our Babymoon here. I’ve shared lots of tips about visiting Disney World while pregnant and how to truly enjoy yourself while still giving your body what it needs.

As far as my bump update, here you go!

Total weight gain: 11.5 lbs. (yep, I gained a boatload on our trip!)

Maternity clothes? Oh yeah, I invested in some cute blue jean shorts from Old Navy Maternity and wore them almost every day of our trip.

Stretch marks? No new ones.

Sleep: I slept like a rock in our hotel room! I think it was the blackout curtains and lack of two snoring bulldogs that may have done the trick.

Workouts: Lots of park walking! We averaged about 10-15,000 steps each day (about 6-7 miles), but it was at a nice, slow pace.

Diet: Not my most impressive diet week. I still tried to eat one salad each day while we were away, but the rest of my meals were embarrassing. Eh, that’s what vacation is all about, right?

Best moment this week:  Visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Butterbeer, anyone?

Miss anything? Roller coasters. I didn’t think it would bother me too much to sit them out, but once we were there and I was in the moment, it was tough to hang back.

Food cravings: Fried anything.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Nothing this week! Oh wait, I did over eat one day and felt pretty terrible afterwards…

Gender: Minnie Mouse

Labor signs: No.

Symptoms: Swollen feet, but that’s to be expected with the amount of walking we did.

Belly button in or out? In.

Wedding rings on or off: On.

Happy or moody most of the time: I was in the Happiest Place on Earth! No mood swings for this Momma this week.

Looking forward to: Our big Anatomy Scan next week. I’m ready to see our little girl again!
