Green Juice Recipe

I love juicing. There, I said it. It’s an easy way for me to get the vitamins needed everyday without eating a salad. Yes, salads are great too and you should eat lots of them. But on days where a salad just isn’t in the cards? Juicing is a great alternative.

Today’s Juice: The Green Juice

Celery (2 stalks)- Very Alkalizing. Prevents water retention, lowers bad cholesterol and helps to lower blood pressure.

Cucumber (1) – aids in kidney, liver and pancreatic function. This hydrating vegetable is also known to enhance elasticity and rejuvenate the cells of the skin to improve complexion.

Spinach (1-2 cups)- high in protein. Has an abundance of vitamins including Vitamin A, Vitamin C & Vitamin K – one serving of spinach will even give you over 100% of your daily recommended value of each.

Kale (1 -2 cups)- valuable source of absorbable Calcium, Vitamin C and Vitamin A. Most importantly, kale is packed with Chlorophyll, which increases oxygen circulation throughout the bloodstream.

Lime (1/2)- Vitamin C and is often suggested as an ideal remedy for a cough or cold.

Granny Smith Apple (1)- rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. An apple a day keeps the doctor away!

Pear (1)-Pears are high in Vitamin A, C, K, B2, B3 and B6. Pears also contain Folate, which is very important for expecting or nursing mothers.

There you go! One glass of Green Juice will help to keep your complexion glowing, balance out your pH levels (important for cancer prevention) and give your body a heavy dose of essential vitamins!
