Why I Decided To Become A Beautycounter Consultant

Beautiful products, made safe.

I’ve spent years looking for a safe, effective skin care brand that I can fully get behind and share with my loved ones. Studying Nutrition has opened my eyes to the deeper problems we face on a daily basis – constant interaction to toxic foods, chemicals and personal care products. As a whole, we hear so much about what not to put into our bodies but what about what we’re putting onto our bodies?

Within a couple years, I’ve had one beautiful (future sister-in-law) friend kick cancer’s ass (you can read Carissa’s inspiring story here) and another beautiful friend start her own breast cancer treatment journey (Katies’s a brave trooper, too!). These two inspiring ladies were so healthy (and fit!). Actually, everyone I’ve personally known to get cancer was healthy. How could this happen? While there’s no definitive answer, I’ve felt this sense of urgency to learn about using safe, nontoxic personal care products and started searching for some brands that I could trust. If we can easily cut back one source of toxins from our lives, why not?

A little over a year ago, I was introduced to Beautycounter from a friend. They asked my opinion based on what the products offered and I was over-the-top excited! Unfortunately, because I was running a skincare studio of my own and going to school full time, I wasn’t able to dig deeper into the Beautycounter opportunity. Well, good news! I’ve made it a priority to look further into this amazing product line and let me tell you… It’s the bee’s knees!

No, seriously, Beautycounter just changed the game. Here’s a little tidbit about why you should consider switching your personal care products:

Decades of studies indicate that serious health issues (including, but not limited to asthma, learning disabilities, cancer and infertility) are on the rise, and due in some part to our ongoing exposure to toxic chemicals—whether it’s in the shower, on our commute, while we eat lunch at a local restaurant, or when we clean our kitchens at home.

At Beautycounter, we’ve banned more than 1,500 ingredients setting a new health and safety standard— all while ensuring our products perform, and that they’re as indulgent as any luxe shampoo, lipstick or oil in the market. It’s not easy work, but it’s well worth it.

This is about progress—not perfection. Because every little bit counts.

– Beautycounter

Beautycounter has a very selective process for the ingredients in their formulas and they are all about transparency. Each of their ingredients is listed on the label – did you know that this is not required by law? Many companies don’t disclose all ingredients (really!)! Not only do I feel confident using the products on myself and my family, I feel that I could share them with anyone – even someone going through cancer treatments, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children (Mommas – check out their adorable Kidscounter), and other lifestyles that recommend a limitation on what you use.

Feel free to check out their website and if you decide to give it a try, you can purchase through my personal Beautycounter website: brittanykimmell.beautycounter.com! I’d love to give you a one-on-one consultation, help you host a Beautycounter social (yes, wine is allowed!), or just get together with a small group over coffee.

Let’s all get excited about beautiful skin and being a part of this movement to get safe products into the hands of everyone!

The choices you make today will matter tomorrow.
